*Better Block Allen Postponed*

In light of the continued spread of COVID-19 around the country and now in Collin County, and consideration of current guidance from health officials, we have made the difficult decision of postponing the Better Block Allen event originally scheduled for March 20-21, including the workshops and build activities scheduled for March 18-19.

The Better Block Allen Team has not made this decision lightly, but the health and safety of our community is our top priority. Our team believes in this project and will work with Better Block to set a date in the future for re-scheduling the event at a time when everyone will feel safe and comfortable coming out and fully participating in the event. Please check back regularly for updates to our event date.

We encourage everyone to direct their efforts to keeping their families and our community healthy by following CDC guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses. Check regularly for the latest news and recommendations with regard to COVID-19 and sign up for regular notifications at

Join us as we envision a more vibrant, destination-filled version of downtown Allen.

Using feedback from local residents, the Better Block and community participants will implement a two-day installation and free celebration along Main Street that includes music, art, public furniture, small business pop-ups, food & drink, and people-oriented space and activities. In addition to creating an engaging event, we will be hosting volunteer workshops and collecting feedback from the community that will help guide future development in downtown! Come celebrate with us at the intersection of Main and Austin Streets on March 20 & 21.
