Corpus Christi Better Block

A transformation is headed to

Corpus Christi, Texas on June 3rd!

The goal is to re-envision Norma Urban Park in a, community-led placemaking event that will help residents get creative with their public space. Some potential changes could include seating, art, shade, small business support, multi-modal transit options and opportunities for community gathering at the People's Street T-Head. The transformation will take place June 3rd however, the park will be activated all summer long so you will be able to enjoy some fun in the sun!

Together with you, The Better Block Foundation, The Downtown Management District, The Office of Mayor Paulette Guajardo, City of Corpus, Visit Corpus Christi, and The United Chamber of Commerce, are working to bring your ideas to life and make Corpus Christi a more vibrant place to live, work, and gather as a community.

ABOUT
THE PROJECT

Norma Urban Park on the Peoples T-Head is set to come alive this summer with a series of pop-ups organized by the The Downtown Management District, The Office of Mayor Paulette Guajardo, City of Corpus, Visit Corpus Christi, and The United Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Better Block Foundation. Through a demonstration of placemaking, the team will work with the community to bring to life their vision of a more vibrant and engaging public space.

The project is scheduled to launch in June and will feature public art, live music, performances, workshops, and local vendors. In the coming weeks, the team will engage with the community to gather feedback and ideas to incorporate into the design of the park.
