Hello there! A two-day transformation is headed to Corpus Christi, Texas June 3rd and we want to hear from YOU!
The goal is to re-envision Norma Urban Park in a, community-led placemaking event that will help residents get creative with their public space. Using this survey to guide the design, some potential changes could include seating, roller skating, art, shade, small business support, multi-modal transit options and opportunities for community gathering at the People's Street T-Head. We hope to test some ideas and get feedback that will be incorporated into the long-term vision. The transformation will take place June 3rd however, the park will be activated all summer long so you will be able to enjoy some fun in the sun!

Together with you, The Better Block Foundation, the Downtown Management District, Visit Corpus Christi, City of Corpus Christi, and the Office of Mayor Paulette Guajardo are working to bring your ideas to life and make Corpus Christi a more vibrant place to live, work, and gather as a community.

Please fill out the survey by following the link above, and share with anyone else you think may be interested and if you’re a vendor or entertainer keen to get involved. Your opinion matters and will directly shape the direction of the project!

Survey closes March 12, 2023.

If you’re interested in offering a few hours of your time to help complete this build, we’d love a helping hand.

Meet a few of the folks working with you to bring this initiative to life.

Norma Urban Park on the Peoples T-Head is set to come alive this summer with a series of pop-ups organized by the Office of Mayor Paulette Guajardo, Downtown Management District, Visit Corpus Christi, and the City of Corpus Christi, in partnership with the Better Block Foundation. Through a demonstration of placemaking, the team will work with the community to bring to life their vision of a more vibrant and engaging public space.

The project is scheduled to launch in June and will feature public art, live music, performances, workshops, and local vendors. In the coming weeks, the team will engage with the community to gather feedback and ideas to incorporate into the design of the park.
