Duncanville Better Block

A temporary activation is coming to Duncanville!

NOVEMBER 19, 2026

The Duncanville Better Block will transform a key stretch of the South Main Street corridor into a temporary testing ground for safer streets, stronger connections, and a more vibrant public realm. Anchored at the catalytic corner of South Main Street and East Wheatland Road, the project will explore how traffic calming, pedestrian improvements, public spaces, and community activation can help connect downtown Duncanville with nearby neighborhoods, civic destinations, businesses, and future development opportunities.

Working alongside the City of Duncanville, Better Block will use temporary, flexible improvements to test new ways of moving through and gathering in the corridor. From safer crossings and traffic calming strategies to outdoor seating, public art, and activation nodes, the demonstration will create opportunities for people to experience the corridor in a new way. The project will also collect data and community feedback to help inform future investments and long-term improvements along Main Street and beyond.

Take the community survey and help shape the activation! Your input will help us temporarily test new ideas, understand what works, and inform future improvements and long-term investments along the corridor.
