A Look at the Dallas Slow Streets Program
A couple months ago, we launched the Slow Streets Program in Dallas. It was open for communities to apply to close down their streets to thru traffic, but keep it open to local traffic.
Ten communities applied to be a part of the pilot program, and we have the results of the program below, including what worked, and what didn't.
I love how Dallas tried the Slow Streets idea—giving neighborhoods a chance to rethink traffic flow feels a lot like planning a good Chess Analysis where every move matters for the whole board.
Transforming small urban areas into vibrant third spaces is truly inspiring. Just as you rethink physical environments for community engagement, I enjoy mental challenges in strategic environments.
