Sugar Land Civic Arts Division teamed up with the Better Block and neighbors to bring a transformation to the Belknap Brookside neighborhood at 119 Brooks St., creating a welcoming and usable space for all to enjoy. The space will opened with a kick off event on September 26th and 27th and will remain active for 6 months.

Through this short-term activation, we’ll bring to life new ideas for the space - ideas that reflect the needs, creativity, and aspirations of the surrounding community. The redesign featured inviting elements such as a stage for live music and performances, shaded seating areas, a beer garden, art installations, native landscaping, and family-friendly spaces to gather and play. By introducing these temporary enhancements, the project aims to explore long-term improvements that foster connection, celebrate local culture, and bring more vibrancy to the neighborhood.
